Together Time

There is no substitute for time together.

Hopefully, there are times each day at bedtime or first thing in the morning when you spend a few minutes with each child or other family member to talk, read, or pray together.

In regard to time spent, quality time is important, but so is quantity. A weekly family night or date with one child at a time goes a long way toward letting your children know that you love them. Include children in your hobbies such as bowling, coin collecting, fishing, crafts, woodworking or cooking. A special outing with your child may be going out to dinner and a movie, going skating, spending an afternoon at the lake or beach, taking a hike, going to a sporting event, or stargazing.

Your children probably have some interesting suggestions of their own.

Of course, date night with your spouse is nonnegotiable! Many times I combine a date night with a surprise menu for my husband or family.
